Simple Save the Dinosaurs Toddler Activity

Being able to put together a simple activity is a huge thing for me. Finding time to prep can be hard, so I love when I run across a simple activity! And if it works for different age groups what more can I ask for?! Some other simple activities I’ve tried are mixing potions, putting together our first sensory bin, and list of easy pompom activities. This activity works on their fine motor skills and coordination as well as concentration! Getting the tape off those dinosaurs (this is the set we have, it’s cheap and durable we’ve been using ours for a few years) isn’t as easy as it looks!

Testing It Out

I used painters tape and taped some dinosaurs to the back of a cookie sheet!  Jake (1yo) loves to peel off things, he has good fine motor skills and concentration!  One of his favorite things to do is peel off things glued onto his brother’s artwork. When I saw this activity on Busy Toddler I thought this was the perfect activity for him!

What I learned

He took one dinosaur off and went off to play with it. Although I wasn’t expecting that, it lead him into imaginary play on his own! The older boys were excited that this activity was abandoned by Jake and had fun finishing it up. This is not exactly how I envisioned it but they all had fun and played on their own for a bit!
