Simple Rainbow cookies with marshmallow ghosts.

Fun Rain-BOO Cookies

My kids love rainbows so I decided to use Rain-boos as part of our Halloween theme! These cookies were easy to make on a rainy Friday afternoon!

Ingredients

  • Cookie dough split into bowls
  • Mini marshmallows
  • Food coloring
  • Flour
  1. Mix food coloring into cookie dough.
  2. Spread flour onto work area and on rolling pin.
  3. Roll out first cookie dough color in a rectangle. This color will be on the outside, it should be the thickest layer. As you add on the other layers it will start to thin out.
  4. Put the next color on top. Flour rolling pin again.
  5. Keep adding colors and rolling it out until you’re out of dough.
  6. Start at one end and roll.
  7. Slice into cookies.
  8. Bake using cookie dough instructions.
  9. While cookies are baking make marshmallow ghosts by smashing the marshmallows a little to form a ghost shape.
  10. Dip a toothpick in black food coloring and dot them on the marshmallows to make the eyes.
  11. When the cookies come out let them cool. Then add the marshmallow ghosts on the bottom!
Fun Room on a Broom pretzel activity.

Room on a Broom Snacktivity

Room on a Broom is a cute story about friendship and helping others out. We’ve read the book in the past but I just found out that they had it as a short movie on Netflix. We made a fun broomstick snack to eat while we watched the movie. This is also the perfect activity to work on fine motor skills!

Ingredients

  • Fruit Roll (we used Annie’s Fruit Tape)
  • Pretzels Sticks
Supplies needed to make an easy and fun Room on a Broom Halloween Snack.
  1. Cut the fruit tape into pieces, about 3 inches long.
  2. Make a little fridge by cutting the fruit tape about 2/3 the way up.
  3. Wrap the portion that wasn’t cut around the pretzel stick.

Simple Pretzel Stick Decorating

Chocolate covered pretzels are one of those snacks that are always a hit! They’re easy to make and so much fun to decorate. Here is how we made ours:

Supplies

  • Chocolate or Vanilla melting wafers
  • Pretzel Rods
  • Wax paper
  • Sprinkles to decorate with (we used candy eyes)
  1. Melt chocolate
  2. Cover pretzels in chocolate. We found using a spoon to pour the chocolate over the pretzels was the easiest way to do it.
  3. Quickly add sprinkles to decorate it. Pour sprinkles over a pan to catch excess sprinkles.
