Back to School Easy Rainbow Donuts

The two older boys will be heading back to school tomorrow! To celebrate I decided to quickly make these easy, quick, and fun rainbow donuts! By searching Pinterest I found a simple recipe for baked donuts because frying isn’t my thing. Since donuts seemed like it would be something hard to make I was pleasantly surprised on easy and quick these were! I used this recipe

To tie breakfast into the new school year I used a cut pun, donut give up!  To remind that the boys not to give up this year. Although they will have challenges they just have to keep working at it and always try their best!

Testing Out Making It a Rainbow

I was able to easily make it rainbow-colored by dividing up the batter into bowls and adding different food coloring to each bowl. Then all I had to do was pour a little of each color into the molds!  Super simple and really cute! The boys are really into rainbows now so this was perfect! The heart shaped molds were from a Foodstirs subscription box. One month was heart-shaped brownies. I kept the heart-shaped mode and use it to make these donuts!

What I Learned

The donut recipe was a quick and easy recipe to make. The recipe has a chocolate frosting but since the boys don’t care for chocolate I just made a simple glaze. This donut more like a cream puff so I think the chocolate glaze would have worked better, although Zack our pickiest eater ate 3 of them and made sure he saved some for later!

Tomorrow starts the morning rush! But with this hack we should be getting out of the house ealier!
