Stress Free Valentine’s Breakfast for Kids

Holiday breakfasts are my thing!  I enjoy the excitement when they get up and see everything!  I have a lot of fun looking up ideas to make it simple and special then putting it together for a fun filled morning! We had already made decorations for the wall (see what we did here) so I just needed to decorate a little more for breakfast!

10 Lovely Things Placemat

Valentine's Breakfast Place Mats. A simple way to write down sweet things about your Valentine!

This year I filled in fun placemats of 10 lovely things about each child.  I printed from Lil Luna. Blake, my oldest, loved it! I read it to each one of them in the morning and he was so excited when I got to him.  Blake is generous with giving words of affirmation and he loves to get them too! So, I knew the placemat would mean a lot to him.

Valentine’s Day Cards

Cute and simple Pikachu Valentine's Day cards.

I also cut out these cute Pikachu cards.  The template is from Simple Everyday Mom.  They were simple to make and so cute! I also used it as my starting point for our scavenger hunt.  We did one for Christmas and they loved it! I made a simple one and tried to keep the clues about love (Such as I love spending time with you before bed.  What do we do before bed? Which I hid in the books we read before bed time!). At the end of the scavenger hunt I had a painting craft, a box of candies for them to share during tonight’s movie night, and a simple valentine’s minute to win it game we’ll play tonight.

Heart Shaped Breakfast

Simple waffle valentine's day breakfast.

Since we had a lot planned this morning plus it’s still a school day I kept breakfast simple.  My husband bought waffles and watermelon which I used a cookie cutter to cut into hearts! Zack was so excited since he’s been asking for watermelon!  It took me an extra minute to do this and it made breakfast a lot more festive!

I feel like it’s the small moments that they’ll remember when they get older.  These are the moments I hope I’m creating and we’ll be able to smile when we look back at them!
